Summary:
The mission of this symposium is to highlight the growing role of Asian contribution to advances in Physics as well as to look forward and assess the role of Physics in Engineering, Life Sciences and Technology in the next 100 years.

Main Content:

The United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2005 as the International Year of Physics. This year also coincides with the 100th year anniversary of the seminal papers of Einstein. Thus, it is a good timing to assess the increasing role by Asians in physics research, and look to the ground breaking contributions Asians can make in the next 100 years.

This conference will be hold from Wednesday-Friday, 10-12 August 2005, with plenary sessions (including an educational forum):
- Frontiers of Physisc: An Overview & Outlook
- Educating the next generation
- Reaching out to public

Conference is open to researchers and students in engineering, life sciences and physical sciences from the region, including ASEAN, India, Pakistan, China, Japan, Korea, HK, and Taiwan.
